As a result of the criminal actions of the official, the city budget suffered losses in the amount of UAH 700 thousand.
The offender, a state registrar of one of the district state administrations in Lviv region, was exposed by investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 jointly with operatives of the Cybercrime Department in Lviv region, under the procedural supervision of the Pustomyty District Prosecutor’s Office.
According to law enforcement officers, in 2020, the official, in order to obtain illegal benefits, made unauthorised changes to the State Register of Real Property Rights and subsequently, using forged documents, unreasonably registered the ownership of an apartment to an individual, which was actually in the communal property of the Lviv City Council.
The amount of damage caused to the budget of Lviv is UAH 700 thousand.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 of Article 365-2 (Abuse of power by persons providing public services) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 3 of Article 362 (Unauthorised actions with information processed in electronic computers, automated systems, computer networks or stored on the carriers of such information, committed by a person who has the right to access it) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. The indictment has been sent to the court for consideration.
The maximum penalty provided for by the sanctions of the articles is imprisonment for up to eight years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with or without confiscation of property.
