
In Lviv, an indictment has been submitted to court against a 28-year-old man and his 25-year-old cohabiting partner from Kherson region, who are accused of the unlawful distribution of psychotropic substances and the narcotic drug cannabis.
According to the pre-trial investigation, the suspects unlawfully purchased psychotropics and cannabis via the Telegram messenger, stored them and sold them in Lviv using so-called “dead drops”. Law enforcement officers documented several episodes of this activity.
During a court-authorised search at the suspects’ residence in Lviv, police officers discovered and seized psychotropic substances: around 165 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, about 22 grams of ecstasy, almost 25 grams of PVP, around 7 grams of mephedrone and 89 LSD tabs, as well as about 150 grams of cannabis, electronic scales, packaging materials and other physical evidence.
According to law enforcement estimates, the value of the seized psychotropics and drugs at “black market” prices exceeds 300,000 hryvnias.
The pre-trial investigation under Part 2 and Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed, and the indictment has been submitted to court. The sanctions under these articles provide for a penalty of up to twelve years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property. The suspects were exposed by officers of the criminal police, investigators and staff of other units of Lviv District Police Department No. 1 under the procedural guidance of the Halytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office.
