
A court in Lviv will hear the case of a driver responsible for a fatal road accident. During the pre-trial investigation conducted by the transport crime investigation department of the Lviv police, it was established that the driver of a Renault Master, a 42-year-old resident of the Lviv district, struck a pedestrian on Stryiska Street.
The victim, a 90-year-old woman from Lviv, sustained serious bodily injuries and was taken to hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, the woman passed away. The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed, and the indictment has been sent to court for consideration.
The article’s sanction provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, as well as a possible deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years or without such deprivation.
