During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers established that a conflict arose between the man, who had previously been prosecuted for murder, and his partner, during which the attacker stabbed the victim numerous times in various parts of the body. The victim died from her injuries.
The incident occurred on December 21 at about three in the morning in an apartment in a building on Zerova Street in Lviv.
As established by criminal police operatives together with investigators of the Lviv District Department No. 2, under the procedural supervision of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office, a domestic conflict arose between a 61-year-old resident of Donetsk region and his 62-year-old female partner, the owner of the apartment. The man stabbed the woman several times, in particular in the chest and neck. She died at the scene from her injuries.
Law enforcement officers detained the offender in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. It was also established that he had previously been prosecuted for murder.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under p.13 part 2 Article 115 (Murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. The indictment has been sent to court.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment – imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years or life imprisonment.
