In Lviv, a young man will be tried for attempting to rob a kiosk using a traumatic weapon.
On May 17, at about 18:10, a 20-year-old resident of Lviv, whose face was covered with a mask, entered a kiosk on Kulchytska Street. Threatening the saleswoman with a traumatic weapon, he demanded she hand over the proceeds. However, the woman was not confused and stated that she would call the police. The attacker then shot a shelf and fled.
Operatives of the criminal police and other services were involved in the search for the offender. By studying the video surveillance footage from the ‘Safe Lviv’ system, law enforcement officers quickly established the attacker’s whereabouts and arrested him.
The pre-trial investigation is complete, and the indictment has been sent for trial. The maximum penalty the defendant faces is up to fifteen years in prison with confiscation of property.
