
In Lviv, the court has imposed preventive measures on three more participants in the disturbances in the Sykhiv district, which took place on the night of 9 July. All three have been remanded in custody without the right to bail.
According to the investigation, two men aged 21 and 28 organised and incited those present in Sykhiv to engage in unlawful actions. They, in particular, took an active part in damaging a service SUV belonging to servicemen of the Sykhiv District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centre: they blocked the vehicle, jumped on it and later overturned it.
Another suspect, a 45-year-old Lviv resident, according to the investigation, provoked a conflict with a serviceman of the Territorial Recruitment Centre, grabbed him, tried to tear off his uniform and verbally abused him.
Law enforcement officers detained all three under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, they have been notified of suspicion of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations under Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative actions are ongoing, and other individuals involved in the unlawful actions are being identified.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Lviv Region and the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv Region with the assistance of the Lviv Garrison Military Law Enforcement Service and the Internal Security Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the Main Military Law Enforcement Directorate. In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in the manner prescribed by law and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
