On 23 October, law enforcement officers detained a doctor of the 1st City Hospital named after Prince Lev at 1 Uzhhorodska Street. The allergist is suspected of receiving an undue benefit for assistance in establishing disability.
On the same day, the Health Department of the Lviv City Council reported that Marta Sokolovska, the head of the department in which the incident occurred, had been dismissed from her position. They added that this will happen to all chief physicians whose staff is found to be corrupt.
It is also known that Andriy Myskiv, the general director of Lviv TMA-2, which includes the hospital on Uzhhorodska Street, was reprimanded.
The Lviv City Council will assist in the investigation as much as possible, as it takes an uncompromising stance in the fight against corruption and is the first to report unfortunate incidents if they occur in the structure.
At the same time, it is important for the city hall that the perpetrators are punished.
