Law enforcement officers in Lviv conducted a search of a funeral service bureau, where an intruder suspected of illegally storing weapons, ammunition, and drugs temporarily lived.

As a result of the authorized search carried out by the operatives of the Department for Combating Narcotic Crimes and the investigators of Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2, an assault rifle, pistols, a grenade, a crossbow, and a large number of cartridges of various calibers were seized. In addition, about 500 grams of narcotic and psychotropic substances were discovered, the value of which on the “black market” exceeds 150,000 hryvnias.
The suspected perpetrator, who is a 32-year-old native of the Ternopil region, was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The court will choose a preventive measure for him. Investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for imprisonment for a term of three to seven years for illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives.
The seized objects were sent for expert examination, and after conducting an examination of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, a qualification will be provided regarding the illegal actions of the person involved. The pre-trial investigation continues.
