On the morning of 16 September, at the junction of Doroshenka and Slovatskoho streets in Lviv, a traffic light pole was knocked down in a road traffic accident. An emergency team from LKP «Lvivavtodor» was dispatched to the scene to deal with the aftermath of the crash.
The company's employees secured the cables so that they would not sag over the overhead contact system, and began dismantling the damaged traffic light equipment and metal structures. After assessing the extent of the damage, they plan to move on to repair and restoration works.
«Our main task now is to promptly eliminate the consequences of the accident and restore the operation of the traffic light system as quickly as possible. At the same time, we will prepare an estimate of the damage caused, which must be reimbursed by the person responsible for the accident,» said the director of LKP «Lvivavtodor», Mykola Vlasiuk.
The company stresses that the costs of restoring the infrastructure must be covered by the driver whose fault led to the accident. Drivers and pedestrians are urged to be especially attentive and careful when crossing this junction until the traffic lights are fully back in operation.
