In Lviv, a cyclist knocks down woman on Knyahyni Olhy Street

On 30 May in Lviv, on Knyahyni Olhy Street, a cyclist knocked down a female pedestrian, as a result of which the woman sustained injuries and was taken to hospital. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Police.

According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, at around 17:20 a 31-year-old cyclist, a resident of Zaporizhzhia, collided with a 58-year-old Lviv woman.

As a result of the incident, the woman sustained bodily injuries, including a broken arm, and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Investigators of Lviv District Police Department No. 2 have opened criminal proceedings under Article 291 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of current transport regulations). The article provides for a fine ranging from two to five thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens, or correctional labour for up to two years, or restriction of liberty for up to five years, or imprisonment for the same term.

Police officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
