The traffic accident occurred on February 25, around 18.20, on Shevchenko Street in Lviv.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Ford Fiesta, a 33-year-old Lviv resident, hit a pedestrian, an 80-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the elderly woman was injured and taken to a medical facility.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
