The accident occurred on August 8, around 03:00, at the intersection of Stryiska-Naukova streets in Lviv.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer, a 55-year-old Lviv resident, hit a pedestrian, a 27-year-old resident of Lviv.
As a result of the accident, the pedestrian was injured and hospitalized.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
