The traffic accident happened on December 20, around 07:00, on Horodotsky Street in Lviv.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volvo S80 car, a 19-year-old resident of Lviv, hit a pedestrian, a 73-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district.
As a result of the accident, the man was injured and, despite the efforts of doctors, died in the hospital.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
