
A pedestrian was killed in Lviv as a result of a car hit – police are establishing the circumstances of the incident
The road accident occurred today, 21 February, around 08.20, on Shevchenko Street in Lviv. This was reported by the Lviv regional police.
As law enforcement officers have previously established, the driver of a Peugeot 3008, a 40-year-old resident of a village in the Stryi district, hit a 60-year-old pedestrian who temporarily lived in Lviv.
The man died on the spot from the injuries sustained in the accident.
Investigators of the Transport Crimes Investigation Department of the Lviv Region Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
