The traffic accident occurred on May 9, around 5:45 p.m., on Hnizdovsky Street in Lviv.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Daewoo Lanos, a 43-year-old resident of Khodorov, hit a pedestrian, a 94-year-old local resident.
As a result of the road accident, the elderly man received bodily injuries and was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
According to the fact, the investigators of the police department No. 1 of the Lviv district police department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
