The traffic accident happened on December 17, around 9:30 p.m., on Dvirtseva Square in Lviv.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the “Electron” bus, a 43-year-old resident of Lviv, hit a pedestrian, a 35-year-old resident of Lviv.
The man died at the scene from injuries received as a result of the accident.
The taxi driver was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and the court will soon issue a preventive measure to him.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
