The road accident occurred on 21 February, around 14.30, on Luhanska Street in Lviv.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, a cyclist, a 23-year-old resident of Novyi Rozdil, collided with a Kia K5 driven by a 25-year-old resident of Lviv.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the two-wheeler was injured and hospitalised in intensive care.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
