Fire Extinguished Overnight in Residential Building in Lviv

In Lviv, a fire broke out overnight in a four-storey residential building on Doroshenka Street. Firefighters received a call on 17 April at 01:17 reporting smoke in the common corridor on the third floor. Rescue units from the city were mobilised to manage the emergency situation.

Upon arrival, firefighters identified that the fire originated in a kitchen, where household items covering an area of 12 sq.m were burnt, causing heavy smoke. To ensure residents’ safety, 13 people were evacuated from the third and fourth floors to fresh air.

By 02:00, the fire was contained and was fully extinguished by 02:10. The response involved 24 rescuers, 5 units of equipment, and cadets from the Lviv State University of Life Safety. The causes and circumstances of the fire are currently being investigated by law enforcement officials.
