In Lviv, Skoda driver caught for a second time with a technically defective car

In the early hours of 19 July in Lviv, at about 1 a.m., patrol police officers stopped a Skoda car that was being driven with a technical defect. This was reported by the patrol police.

The officers established that both front wheels of the vehicle were missing their mounting bolts. In accordance with subparagraph 31.4.5 “e” of the Highway Code, the operation of such a vehicle is prohibited. The police informed the driver, who was carrying a passenger, about the detected defect.

It emerged that in February this year this driver had already been held administratively liable for driving a vehicle with a technical defect. In view of the repeated nature of the offence and the requirements of current legislation, the patrol officers drew up a report on him under Part 4 of Article 121 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences (repeated driving of a vehicle used to provide passenger transport services that has defects).

The driver was informed of his rights and familiarised with the report; his driving licence was not seized. The patrol police note that communication with the citizen took place in compliance with the requirements of the law, and the principles of legality, professionalism and respect for human rights and freedoms. The final decision in the case will be made by the court.
