Illegal Counterfeiting Uncovered in Lviv

In Lviv, prosecutors have submitted to court the case of a mother and son engaged in the production, storage, and distribution of counterfeit excise stamps. It was discovered that a Ukrainian citizen residing in the Netherlands organised the counterfeiting and involved his former wife and son.

To execute the scheme, the man bought his son a printer, which was used to print the counterfeits. They were cut, sorted into boxes, and stored in a cupboard between the floors of a building. In June 2024, this illegal activity was uncovered by law enforcement, who seized nearly 41 thousand counterfeit stamps.

Concerning these facts, the former husband has been charged in absentia and is currently on the international wanted list. The case is being overseen by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region.
