In Lviv, law enforcement officers seized almost 79,000 units of illicit products for electronic cigarettes with an estimated value of over UAH 12.6 million. The distribution scheme was uncovered by detectives of the territorial office of the Bureau of Economic Security in Lviv region.
According to the investigation, the individuals involved had organised the circulation of products for electronic cigarettes without excise tax stamps. These include flavourings, POD systems, cartridges, nicotine products and other excisable goods.
As part of the criminal proceedings, law enforcement officers carried out eight searches, during which the said products were seized. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under Part 1 of Article 204 and Part 1 of Article 199 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Procedural guidance in the case is provided by prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, while operational support is ensured by the SBU Office in Lviv region.
