In Lviv, a flat caught fire on the sixth floor of a nine-storey residential building on Naukova Street. A report of the blaze was received by the Rescue Service “101” on 8 August at 18:08.
Fire and rescue units from Lviv were dispatched to the scene. By the time the rescuers arrived, smoke was coming from the kitchen window, where the fire had started. Due to the heavy smoke, firefighters worked in special breathing and vision protection apparatus.
The fire was contained at 18:25 and fully extinguished at 18:28. The flames destroyed household belongings over an area of around 5 sq.m.
The operation involved 9 rescuers and 3 units of specialised equipment. No one was injured.
The cause and circumstances of the fire are being established by specialists.
