In Lviv, a 37-year-old border service inspector was convicted for attempting to receive a bribe for “arranging” a contract service. Prosecutors from the Lviv Specialised Defence Prosecution of the Western Region proved his guilt in court.
The investigation established that the serviceman promised admission to a chosen border detachment, claiming to have supposed connections. For his “services”, he demanded 2,000 US dollars.
In January 2023, he was detained after receiving the agreed sum. The actions of the accused were classified under part 3 of article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of influence). By the verdict of the Halytskyi District Court of Lviv, he was found guilty and sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
