Suspect Detained in Lviv for Fatal Conflict with Partner

Details of the Incident
On April 9, police received a report stating that a woman’s body with signs of violent death was found in an apartment on Mechnykova Street in Lviv. Law enforcement officers, including an investigative task force and other units from Lviv Police Department No.1, as well as forensic experts, were present at the scene. The body of the deceased, a 47-year-old Lviv woman, showed signs of physical injuries.
Investigators determined that on the previous day, April 8, a sudden conflict had erupted between the 44-year-old apartment owner and his partner, during which the suspect inflicted injuries on the woman, resulting in her death. The perpetrator was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. A court will soon decide on a preventive measure for him.
Legal Consequences
Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Halytsky District Prosecutor’s Office, informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 121 (Intentional Grievous Bodily Harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article’s sanction provides for a sentence of seven to ten years in prison. Pre-trial investigation continues.
