Man Detained in Lviv for False Bomb Threat Report

The Lviv Prosecutor’s Office has charged a resident of the Kyiv region for making a false report about an explosion at a state institution (Part 1 of Article 259 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). According to the investigation, in March this year, a 64-year-old man, while in the center of Lviv, reported a bomb threat at an administrative building. This caused the evacuation of personnel and visitors, and disrupted the institution’s operations. Law enforcement quickly located and detained the suspect in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The investigation is ongoing, and a preventive measure is under discussion – detention with the right to bail. The investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Lviv District Police Department No.1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police with the support of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region.
