In Lviv, police detained a foreign national wanted by Interpol.
The 27-year-old citizen of Azerbaijan was implicated in hooliganism in his home country. To avoid punishment, he fled to Ukraine and began hiding from justice. As a result, he was entered into Interpol’s database.
On February 12, officers from the Migration Police Department, along with the International Police Cooperation Sector of Lviv Police, located the perpetrator. He was detained under article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The detainee has been placed in a temporary holding facility. He will soon be extradited to the country that initiated the search.
