A man suspected of fatally wounding a soldier has been taken into custody in Lviv.
Today, December 5, the Frankivsk District Court of Lviv chose a preventive measure for the 30-year-old Lviv resident – detention for 60 days without the possibility of bail. On December 3, at the intersection of Yefremova and Yaponska streets in Lviv, an unknown assailant stabbed a soldier during an alert and then fled. The wounded soldier was hospitalized but later died in the hospital.
Police operatives identified and detained the suspect, a 30-year-old resident of Lviv. Under the procedural guidance of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office, the detainee has been charged with committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 121 and Part 3 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty is up to twelve years in prison.
