In Lviv, police officers detained a 47-year-old Lviv resident suspected of robbing a shop on Horodotska Street. This was reported by Lviv District Police Department No.2.
According to the investigation, on 31 July at around 12:25 in one of the shops on Horodotska Street, an unidentified man together with a female companion took goods worth more than 2700 hryvnias and fled without paying. A security guard tried to stop him, but unsuccessfully, after which he reported the incident to the 102 emergency hotline.
To establish the circumstances, officers from the criminal police, investigators and staff of other units of Police Department No.1 of Lviv District Police Department No.2 were involved. Law enforcement officers identified the suspected offender and his accomplice.
The man was detained under the provisions of Article 615 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He has been notified that he is suspected of committing a criminal offence under Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery). The sanction of this article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and in the near future the court is to choose a preventive measure for the suspect. The police are also establishing the whereabouts of his accomplice.
