Under the guidance of the Lviv prosecutor’s office, two residents of Transcarpathia, aged 22 and 23, have been charged with treason (Part 2, Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in March this year, the men agreed to carry out a task for a representative of Russia in exchange for a reward — to plant an explosive device under a vehicle marked as belonging to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The plan was to remotely detonate it using a detonator.
After receiving instructions via Telegram, the perpetrators arrived in Lviv and collected the disguised explosive.
- The explosive was planted under the vehicle.
- A container with a phone for audio and video surveillance was placed.
Thanks to the prompt actions of law enforcement officers, the explosion was prevented. The suspects were detained without the possibility of bail. The investigation is ongoing under the guidance of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region.
