
Police in Lviv have arrested a woman involved in drug trafficking.
It was established that the 46-year-old resident of Lviv organized a supply scheme and sold methadone-containing tablets to local residents. She distributed them ‘hand-to-hand’. For this, she faces a penalty of up to ten years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The offender, who had repeatedly been prosecuted for criminal offenses, was exposed by criminal police operatives. This was done in collaboration with investigators from the police department No. 1 of the Lviv district police management No. 1, under the procedural guidance of the Halytska district prosecutor’s office.
Law enforcement officers documented the facts of the sale of tablets containing narcotics by the suspect. On May 29, she was arrested in Lviv under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after another transaction.
Investigators from the territorial police unit informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense as per Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer, or sale of narcotics, psychotropic substances, or their analogs) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty the suspect faces is up to ten years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Pre-trial investigation continues, and the court will soon decide on the preventive measure for the suspect.
