
A family quarrel in Lviv ended with a knife injury
In Lviv, a wife injured her husband with a knife during a family argument – police are investigating. The woman faces a sentence of up to eight years of imprisonment for the crime committed.
Investigation of the incident
The police received a report on May 2 from medics about a man with a penetrating chest wound who was delivered to one of the Lviv hospitals. Operatives from the criminal police, investigators, and employees of other departments of Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Directorate No. 2 were involved in solving the crime.
The law enforcement officers identified the injured person – a 31-year-old resident of Lviv. It was also established that the injuries were inflicted by his wife. During a family argument, the 35-year-old woman struck the man in the chest with a knife, causing bodily harm.
Legal consequences
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and investigators from the territorial police unit, under the procedural guidance of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office, informed her of suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided by Part 1 of Article 121 (Intentional serious bodily injury) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article’s sanction provides for a penalty of imprisonment from five to eight years.
Pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
