Collision on Melnyka Street in Lviv: E-bike Driver Injured
The traffic accident occurred on May 8, around 4:00 PM, on Melnyka Street in Lviv.
Accident Circumstances
As preliminarily established by law enforcement, the driver of a Volkswagen Passat, a 56-year-old Lviv resident, collided with an e-bike driven by a 36-year-old resident of Lviv.
As a result of the accident, the e-bike driver sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Investigation and Legal Consequences
Investigators from Lviv District Police Department No. 2 have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of Road Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article’s sanction is up to three years of restricted freedom, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement is investigating the circumstances of the incident.
