In the town of Mykolaiv in the Stryi district, a fire broke out at night, during which rescuers prevented two residential buildings from being destroyed by flames. The incident was reported to the Rescue Service “101” on 20 June at 01:26.
The fire started on Pidlissia Street. Firefighters from Mykolaiv and Novyi Rozdil responded to the call. By the time the emergency crews arrived, a wooden lean-to attached to a two-storey brick residential building was on fire, as well as the attic and roof cladding of this building. There was a risk that the flames would spread to nearby buildings.
The fire was contained at 02:16 and fully extinguished at 03:38. Rescuers prevented the residential building from being destroyed by fire and stopped the blaze from spreading to the neighbouring residential building.
Eight rescuers and two units of specialised equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. The causes and circumstances of the fire are being established.
