The local resident faces up to six years in prison for the crime
On February 14, around 5:00 p.m., the police received a report from an anonymous person that the city council in the city of Novy Rozdil was mined.
Specialists of explosive devices, dog handlers and employees of other police services of the Lviv region immediately went to the scene of the incident, as well as. investigative and operative group of police department No. 2 of the Stryi district police department.
Law enforcement officers inspected the premises of the city council and the surrounding areas, the workers were evacuated. No explosive or suspicious items were found during the inspection.
Through the conducted measures, the police soon established the identity of the intruder, who provided a false report about the mining, a 42-year-old resident of Novy Rozdol. He was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 259 (Knownly false report about the threat to the safety of citizens, destruction or damage of property) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of two to six years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
