In the town of Novyi Rozdil on Stus Street in Stryi district, a fire broke out in a flat in a multi-storey residential building, as a result of which the owner of the dwelling was injured. The incident was reported on 1 July at 18:30.
The fire started in a flat on the seventh floor of a nine-storey residential building. Household items were burning over an area of about 0.5 sq. m.
The flat owner suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to Novyi Rozdil City Hospital.
According to preliminary information, the likely cause of the fire may have been an electrical appliance that had been left switched on. The fire was extinguished before the arrival of the fire and rescue unit.
Rescuers urge residents to monitor electrical appliances carefully and not to leave them switched on unattended, in order to avoid similar incidents.
