
Police in Lviv are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an infant whose body was discovered in one of the city’s parks.
A Lviv resident contacted law enforcement after noticing a suspicious bag left in a park on Chornovola Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they inspected the item and found the body of a child inside.
According to preliminary information, the infant was dressed and wrapped in a blanket. The body has been sent for a forensic medical examination, which should determine the cause of death and other key circumstances.
Law enforcement officers told journalists at the scene that the child found in the bag was a boy. He was less than one month old.
Investigative actions are currently ongoing. Police are working to establish how the child ended up in Lviv’s 700th Anniversary Park and to identify anyone who may be connected to the incident.
