In the village of Pukenychi in Stryi district, Lviv region, rescuers freed a roe deer that had fallen into a recess of a gas distribution unit about two metres deep. The animal was unable to get out on its own.
The roe deer that had become trapped was spotted during a walk in the forest by concerned locals who were out looking for mushrooms. They immediately called the rescue service to report the situation.
Staff from the 8th State Fire and Rescue Unit in Stryi arrived at the scene. Using improvised equipment, the emergency workers carefully lifted the animal out of the recess.
According to available information, the roe deer was not injured and was released back into the wild. Rescuers note that it was the timely call from concerned members of the public that allowed them to provide prompt assistance to the wild animal.
