
At the Shehyni – Medyka border crossing point, customs officers together with border guards uncovered two consignments of goods that were being brought into Ukraine without declaration. The total estimated value of the seized items is around 900,000 hryvnias.
During an inspection of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter heading into Ukraine and using the ‘green corridor’, inspectors found 20 XKAH Pro electronic bowls for hookahs, with an estimated value of 330,000 hryvnias. A report was drawn up in connection with this incident on the grounds of Part 2 Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
In another case at Shehyni, during the inspection of a RENAULT minibus driven by a 38-year-old resident of Lviv region returning from Poland, officers discovered 665 kg of CHICCO D’ORO Tradition 100% Arabika coffee. The citizen attempted to bring in without declaration 2,620 packs of coffee with a total value of around 600,000 hryvnias.
In relation to the second incident, a report on a breach of customs regulations was drawn up in accordance with Part 3 Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
