At the Shehyni checkpoint in Lviv region, a consignment of undeclared used car wheels with an estimated value of about 1.4 million hryvnias was discovered.
During an inspection of a Scania lorry travelling from Slovakia to Kharkiv and driven by a 48-year-old driver, border guards of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment, together with operational officers of the detachment and customs officials, identified discrepancies between the submitted shipping documents and the actual cargo.
In the vehicle’s trailer, they found 230 used car wheels of various brands and sizes, which were not listed in the documents.
Customs officials drew up a report on the detected offence, and the goods were seized and taken to a customs warehouse.
