Household chemicals shop catches fire in Pustomyty, firefighters swiftly extinguish blaze

In the town of Pustomyty on the evening of 8 June, a fire broke out in a shop on Hrushevskoho Street where household chemicals were being sold. The Rescue Service received the call at 22:09.

The fire started in the shop premises located on the ground floor of a two-storey building. Firefighters from Pustomyty and the volunteer fire brigade from the village of Mistky were dispatched to the scene.

By the time the firefighters arrived, flames were already bursting out of the shop. The fire quickly spread through the wooden fittings and reached part of the stock; in particular, household chemicals were burning over an area of about 20 sq. m.

Thanks to the well-coordinated actions of the firefighters, the blaze was contained at 22:31 and fully extinguished at 22:38. No one was injured in the incident.

Experts are establishing the causes and circumstances of the fire.
