
In Pustomyty, police arrested a perpetrator who attempted to kill an acquaintance.
It was established that the suspect, who had previously been convicted of criminal offenses, inflicted multiple knife wounds to the victim’s neck and forearm. The injured person is currently in intensive care. The perpetrator faces a penalty of up to fifteen years in prison.
The incident happened today, July 21, around midnight on Kozatska Street in the city of Pustomyty. A conflict arose between two men, during which one participant inflicted several knife blows on the other and then fled. Paramedics, called to the scene by witnesses, diagnosed the victim, a 26-year-old resident of Pustomyty, with neck and forearm wounds. Doctors reported the incident to the police.
Criminal police operatives, investigators, and other department officers from police station No. 3 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2 were involved in solving the crime. Through their efforts, law enforcement officers established the perpetrator’s location and detained him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The detained individual was identified as a 44-year-old local resident known to the injured person. Under the procedural guidance of the Pustomyty District Prosecutor’s Office, he was informed of the suspicion of committing a crime as per Part 2 of Article 15 – Part 1 of Article 115 (Attempted Murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of seven to fifteen years. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon decide on the preventive measure for the suspect.
