In the town of Rava-Ruska on 3 July at around 11:00 a road traffic collision occurred in which a woman was injured. This was reported by Police Department No. 2 of Lviv District Police Directorate No. 1.
According to preliminary information, a 15-year-old resident of one of the villages in the district, riding a GEON PN-200 motorbike, hit a 54-year-old woman from a neighbouring village who was crossing the carriageway outside a pedestrian crossing.
As a result of the collision, the victim sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital to receive medical care.
Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road traffic safety rules). The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for the same period.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
