In the village of Riasne-Ruske, an explosive past was uncovered during land work: two RGD-5 hand grenades and numerous rifle ammunition from the Second World War were discovered during surface works. This was an unexpected discovery, as the munitions had been buried for decades.
Facebook reports that at 18:03, specialists from the Pyrotechnic Division of the Mobile Rescue Centre for Rapid Response “Lviv” of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine removed these items and destroyed them in the established manner.
The main directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Lviv region emphasises the importance of caution:
- avoid touching suspicious items;
- do not attempt to move, dismantle, or neutralise them;
- do not throw them into a fire, as this can be extremely dangerous.
If a potentially dangerous item is found, immediately inform the rescuers by dialling 101 or the police by dialling 102.
