In the town of Rudky, Sambir district, a road traffic collision occurred on 3 June, as a result of which a cyclist was injured. This was reported by the Lviv Region Police.
The crash happened at around 11:45. According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, an Opel Astra driven by an 18-year-old Lviv resident collided with an electric bicycle ridden by a 68-year-old resident of Sambir district.
As a result of the collision, the rider of the two-wheeled vehicle sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital.
Investigators from the Sambir District Police Department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road traffic safety rules). The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty, with disqualification from driving vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident and clarifying all the details of the collision.
