In the “Lisopark Rudno” nature reserve, a ditch was discovered, which was used to drain sewage into the forest. Materials about the fact of pollution of the forest park were sent to law enforcement agencies. The city planning department of the Lviv City Council informs about this.
“In Rudno, the owners of several houses on the street Foresters built a ditch, which was used to drain sewage into the forest park. Even the fact that this territory recently has the status of a nature reserve fund did not stop the grief of the owners.
This fact was immediately reported to the State Environmental Inspection in the Lviv Region. After inspecting the land plot on the street Forestry, ecologists confirmed the leakage of an unknown substance of cloudy color from the ground opposite the houses and took soil samples.
The results of measurements of indicators of the composition and properties of soils showed an excess of the maximum allowable concentrations of pollutants (sulfates) and relative to the control sample (ammonium, phosphorus).
Since these violations were found on particularly valuable lands, which, according to the Land Code of Ukraine, include the lands of the forest reserve of local importance “Lisopark Rudno”, the State Environmental Inspection in the Lviv region sent the relevant materials to the Railway Police Department. So now the law enforcement officers will assess the actions of unscrupulous Rudniv residents,” the city planning department of the LMR noted.
