
In the Sambir district, a man accused of distributing psychotropic substances and storing ammunition will be tried.
During a sanctioned search of his residence, law enforcement officers discovered psychotropic substances and ammunition for combat firearms. The maximum penalty he faces is up to ten years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As established by the criminal police operatives and investigators of the Sambir District Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Sambir District Prosecutor’s Office, a 32-year-old resident of one of the cities in the Sambir region purchased the psychotropic substance PVP and distributed it to drug-dependent “clients” through hand-to-hand transactions in the entrance of his building.
Police documented several facts of the perpetrator’s illegal activities and during a sanctioned search at his residence, they found and seized a substance resembling the psychotropic drug PVP, other physical evidence of criminal involvement, as well as ammunition for rifled firearms.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings, opened under part 2 of article 307 (“Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer, or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and part 1 of article 263 (“Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, is completed. The indictment has been referred to court for consideration.
