In Sambir, on Shevchenka Street, at about 08:10 on 10 August, there was a road traffic incident in which a pedestrian was injured. This was reported by the Sambir District Police Department of the National Police Main Directorate in Lviv Region.
According to preliminary police information, a 23-year-old driver of an Audi A4 struck a 66-year-old pedestrian, a resident of Sambir district.
As a result of the accident, the pedestrian sustained bodily injuries and was taken to a medical facility.
Investigators of the Sambir District Police Department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road safety rules). The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
The police are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
