The road accident occurred on 13 February, at 01.20, on Feduska Street in Sambir.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Volkswagen Passat, a 24-year-old resident of the Luhansk region, lost control and drove into a parked BMW 520D.
As a result of the accident, the passenger of the BMW 520D, a 34-year-old local resident, was injured and hospitalised.
It was established that the driver of the Volkswagen Passat was driving the vehicle in a state of intoxication.
Investigators of the Sambir District Police Department opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for imprisonment for up to three years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of three to five years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
