A pedestrian was injured in a car accident in Sambir – police are establishing the circumstances of the incident
The road accident happened on 30 September, around 20.00, on Bandera Street in Sambir.
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the driver of a Peugeot 3008, a 65-year-old resident of one of the villages in the district, hit a pedestrian, a 46-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the pedestrian was injured and hospitalised.
Investigators of the Sambir District Police Department opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
