
In the village of Batkiv, Zolochiv district, the pyrotechnic unit of the Lviv Mobile Rapid Response Rescue Centre of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on 19 June removed and destroyed two 76 mm artillery shells dating back to the Second World War. This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region.
The dangerous munitions were discovered during earthworks in a field within the territory of the village of Batkiv. SES pyrotechnic experts removed the finds and destroyed them in the prescribed manner.
Rescuers stress the need to observe safety rules if suspicious objects are found. It is forbidden to touch, move, dismantle such items or throw them into a fire, as this may lead to an explosion.
If suspicious or explosive objects are found, the State Emergency Service urges people to call “101” or “102” immediately.
